finish it up. Feelmax shoes are not ordinary shoes (if you want that, look elsewhere). This has ZERO heel, ZERO arch, ZERO cushioning (other than the easily removeable innersole). It has an EXTREMELY thin (1mm) and flexible sole, hence the shoe could be rolled up almost like a ballet slipper (but the sole is clearly designed for outside use). Due to the thin sole, its long term durability for distance running is very much T.B.D. (and perhaps the new Feelmax OSMA with stronger sole may be more suitable for real distance runners). The Kuusaa is similar to the Feelmax Niesa, except the Niesa has a higher side and a velcro closure, while the Kuusa has a lower side (like most running shoes) and an elasticized cinch closure.
Before ordering, I was concerned about the comfort of the cinch closure, but it is great. No discomfort or pressing at all, and because it is elastic you really dont need to uncinch it to put on the shoe (it stretches and the shoe easily slides on). Also no concern about not having a full set of laces/holes, because the shoe has a snug stretchy fit like a sock and the cinch is really just an extra measure to ensure the shoe can never accidently slip off.
It is nearly perfect for anyone who wants a "minimal" (pseudo-barefoot) shoe, including barefoot runners who want/need something for use in the winter or on littered runs (the sole is quite puncture proof, but you WILL FEEL anything you step on). As already noted, it fits faily snugly, similar to a sock. If you want a wide toe box to allow your toes to splay outward, this might not be a perfect match (although most folks should find the fit comfy), and for wide toe wiggling you might want to look at the TerraPlana VivoBarefoot Aqua (more traditional style, more expensive, thicker sole but wonderfully wide toe box). The Kuusaa is unbelievably light, hardly more than a sock. It is perfect as a barefoot running alternative "minimalistic" shoe.
The Feelmax products price is extremely reasonable for a shoe. As already noted, long distance runners may (T.B.D.) find the tough but thin sole wears, and hence they may likely go through these shoes quicker than other "normal" thick soled shoes. That is the tradeoff, extreme lightness vs durability, but the low price makes that a reasonable tradeoff.
If you want a minimalistic (pseudo-barefoot) shoe for light to medium running, this seems a good match (consider the Feelmax Osma for heavy running, and the Niesa for more "social" usage). I chose the black/grey (black shoe with grey lettering/laces) rather than the grey/red (light grey shoe with red lettering/laces).
Note: Do not order size based on your normal size. Be sure to measure your foot and then use the size chart for a perfect fit (if in-between sizes, size up to the next larger size).
