I have fairly chronic plantar fasciitis (it's my own fault - I'm trying to lose weight to reduce stress on the arches of my feet). So I wind up buying all sorts of strange shoes to try to stop the aching. My favorite pair at the moment are those silly Five Fingers by Vibram - it's basically a shoe that looks like a glove, with individual pockets for your toes.
So I approached this purchase with an eye toward the flexibility of the sole. I saw an online review with these shoes rolled up like a crescent - there's basically no solid sole to them - which is great for folks like me trying to build up arch strength.
When I bought them I was thinking mostly of comfort. They ARE super duper comfy - imagine a house slipper crossed with a wrestling shoe. Imagine my surprise when they got here and they're just cute as can be - with two of my favorite colors and a solid high top to hold the ankle still. I'm seriously considering buying these in the turquoise (I had already ordered the purple and the peach colors.)
They're on sale! How can you resist?! :)
p.s. One more thing: I had read these things run huge, but I usually wear a women's 8.5 to 9. I ordered these in a 9 and they fit fine, so no worries about upsizing two sizes or anything.
